Low-stock thresholds
Setting a low-stock threshold per product and finding what has fallen below it.
Every product holds a low-stock threshold per store, plus a minimum quantity. When stock on hand falls to or below the threshold, the product counts as low.
What you get
- A count of how many products are low
- A count of products that have hit zero
- A list of the low ones, with category, store and current quantity
Products with a threshold of zero are excluded from low-stock counting entirely — that is how you opt an item out.
Restock level
Alongside the threshold, each product can carry a restock level per store — how many you want on the shelf after reordering. It is what a suggested order tops the product back up to. With no restock level set, the suggestion tops up to twice the low-stock threshold.
From low stock to an order
Reaching the threshold flags the product; it never orders anything by itself. When you are ready, Raise purchase order on the Stock tab or the dashboard's low-stock list opens a draft purchase order with the suggested quantities: restock level, less what is on hand, less what is already on order and not yet delivered. Nothing goes to a supplier until you send or mark the order. See Purchase orders.
