Cash drawer and denomination counting

Opening the drawer, counting float, and recording denominations at close.

Cash is counted by denomination rather than entered as a single figure, both when opening a register and when closing it. The counter adds up as you go.

At close, the expected cash is: opening float + cash sales + cash added − cash taken out. Cash sales come from the server, so reloading the page mid-shift does not turn the day's takings into a variance. Manual top-ups and payouts are tracked apart from sales so they are never double-counted.

The denomination breakdown is stored with the session, alongside the note and the staff member. See Registers and shifts.
