Assigning technicians

There is no technician field on a ticket — what is recorded instead, and how teams use status as the queue.

A ticket can be pointed at a technician, but only at intake, and nothing in the app shows it back to you afterwards.

Choosing one at intake

The intake wizard lists the devices on the job as cards. Once a device has been saved into the intake, its card carries a Technician dropdown of the staff at that store, and each device on the same job can go to a different person. Left on Technician (default), the ticket is recorded against whoever entered the PIN at intake — which is also what happens on a straight-through single-device intake, where no dropdown appears at all.

It is set once and not surfaced again

There is no way to reassign a ticket after intake, no per-technician queue or filter on the repair board, no workload view, and no per-technician throughput report. The choice is stored on the ticket; it does not drive anything.

What is recorded regardless

Every status change is written to the ticket's history with the staff member who made it. So who moved this ticket, and when is always answerable — even when nobody chose a technician at intake.

In practice, teams use the status itself as the queue: everything at Diagnosing or In Progress is live work. See Statuses and workflow.
