Repair pricing
Maintaining a repair price list by device and fault, including bulk import.
Repair prices come from a price list of your own. A new company starts with an empty list — the bundled catalogue was one specific business's pricing, so nobody inherits someone else's rates by accident.
There are two ways to fill it in, and you can use both:
- Add devices as you go. The brand step of the intake wizard ends with an Add device tile, and the “no models” and “no generations” screens offer Add to catalog. You type the brand, the model, an optional generation and the repairs with their prices; the wizard then carries straight on with the device you just created.
- Import the whole list at once. Settings → Data Import handles repair prices alongside customers, products and inventory. See Data import.
Everything you have added lives on Repairs → Device Catalog & Price Book (also reachable from Settings, and from the Repair Shop Settings panel). It groups your devices by brand, model and generation. From there you can change a price in place, remove a repair, add a repair to an existing device, or delete a device you no longer take in.
Adding a repair at the counter does not have to be a one-off either: when a device has no priced repairs, the repair step lets you name and price the job, and a Save to price book tick box writes it to the catalogue at the same time. The job goes on the ticket whether or not the catalogue write succeeds.
If your company has the built-in repair catalogue switched on, those devices are not listed on the Device Catalog page — they are not yours to edit. Anything you add there extends the built-in list, and a repair saved under the same name overrides its price.
Changing a repair's price away from the list requires a supervisor or admin PIN, the same as a refund or a POS price override. Every override is attributable.
