Repairs and the POS

How a completed repair is collected and paid for at the till.

A repair is paid for at the till. The POS knows what is owed on the ticket, so the counter does not re-key what the bench already recorded, and the ticket settles as part of the sale.

Because payment runs through the POS, a repair collection behaves like any other sale: it can be split across tenders, take a gift card or store credit, and produce a normal receipt. See Taking payment.

If the sale fails to record, the ticket is not marked paid — nothing is applied unless the sale saves.

What goes to the till is the balance: any deposit already taken on the ticket comes off first. See Deposits.
